"American Idol" season 12 champion Candice Glover will pay tribute to fallen servicemen and women at this year's National Memorial Day Concert in Washington, D.C. In her first major gig since her "Idol" win, Candice will perform the National Anthem at the U.S. Capitol, something which has long been a goal of the singer's.
In addition to airing live on PBS, the 24th annual National Memorial Day Concert will be broadcast to troops around the world via the American Forces Network. The concert will also feature special tributes as well as performances by singer Katherine Jenkins and "The Voice" finalist Chris Mann. Retired General Colin L. Powell and actor Ed Harris are also set to make appearances. Actors Joe Mantegna and Gary Sinise have signed on to emcee the event.
The 2013 National Memorial Day Concert will air live on PBS on Sunday, May 26th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.
Candice Glover's first album Music Speaks is scheduled to hit stores on July 16th and is currently available for pre-order on iTunes.
